Providing Support Services to Plan Sponsors and Fiduciaries

Our role as your long-term partner is to provide you with the ongoing support services you need to manage your plan. To make this as easy and as convenient as possible, we'll provide you with a comprehensive suite of powerful analytical tools and resources at schwab.com/workplace.

Relevant and timely information

As plan sponsor, you have a significant responsibility to meet the needs of your employees while satisfying your duties as a plan fiduciary under ERISA guidelines. It's important to have the right reporting and monitoring mechanisms in place to help you make the most of your plan and to serve the best interests of your employees.

Monitor your plan's performance

Measuring and monitoring the performance of your plan's fund line-up, as well as documenting your due-diligence process, is extremely important to you as a plan fiduciary.

  • We can provide you a Due Diligence/Investment Report Package that includes:
  • Monthly Fund Monitoring Report. Includes a watch list and a termination notice, which you'll receive by email whenever a fund falls outside the acceptable performance criteria for the plan you have established.
  • Asset Allocation Analysis. A comprehensive report of your plan's overall asset allocation, return on assets and account activity benchmarked against the previous 12-month period.
  • Market/Economic Commentary and Industry Data Timely market information and industry-relevant data.
  • Schwab Focus List™ A prescreened list of funds, sorted by asset class, based on a rigorous objective screening process.

Stay on track with your plan's goals

To help keep you on track with meeting your plan's goals and objectives, we'll provide support services with periodic investment reviews with you and your investment committee. If you have a consultant, we'd be happy to work with and assist that consultant with the investment reviews, which include:

  • Market overview and economic updates
  • Investment structure and fund benchmarking analysis
  • Peer group and benchmarking information

In many cases, we can even arrange discussions directly between a fund's portfolio manager and our clients along with their consultants, when appropriate.

As part of our ongoing commitment to technology and supporting your plan's investment needs with real-time information, we offer periodic Investment Services webcasts, which allow you to:

  • View a live presentation over the Internet while listening to a Schwab Retirement Investment Services specialist
  • Engage in an email dialogue with one of our investment information professionals
  • Attend sessions and stay abreast of such topics as recent events in the market and economy, as well as general fund information presented by portfolio managers
