For employees who prefer to be actively involved in the ongoing management of their retirement investments, Schwab offers two options.

Plan-Selected Fund

This solution may appeal to participants who feel confident investing and allocating among the funds your plan offers. It offers:

  • Prescreened funds— Fund line-up that participants choose from is prescreened and selected according to a plan sponsor's predefined investment criteria
  • Diversification1 Retirement investments are diversified within each asset class

We offer powerful tools to help you select the fund line-up for your plan including the Investment Policy Statement Toolkit and the Schwab Focus List™.

Schwab Personal Choice Retirement Account® (PCRA)

PCRA may be an attractive option for employees who are more experienced investors and want to proactively select from a large universe of investment vehicles. PCRA provides:

  • More investment flexibility— Employees have more control over their investments and asset allocation
  • More investment choices— More than 1,100 funds are available with no load or transaction fees through Schwab's Mutual Fund OneSource® service*, PCRA offers access to stocks listed on all major exchanges, over-the counter issues, bonds and other fixed-income instruments.
  • Special access— Certain loaded mutual funds are now available through PCRA without paying the load charges. Typically available only to investment professionals, these funds include both load-waived versions of retail funds and funds normally offered exclusively to institutions.
  • Dedicated call center—Registered representatives specifically trained on Schwab PCRA are available to assist your employees
